The first step to fitting your new STEEP seat post topper is to remove the Zwift seat post topper from the Zwift seat post itself. You will keep the seat post and fit the new STEEP seat post topper to this using 4 screws.
Removing the Zwift seat post topper is difficult, but is possible, and this is a guide to show you how.
FIRST STEP : Try and cleanly remove the screws
The 4 screws are secured in place using thread locker which is essentially a strong glue holding the screws in place and preventing them from turning.
What you need to do is heat up the seat post topper and in particular the screws, without melting the paint. What I would do is leave the topper on a radiator, or in a bucket of boiling water to get the whole piece up in temperature. Then using a heat gun or hair dryer put direct heat on the screws.
When you think they are hot enough, use an impact driver set in reverse and a fresh good quality 3mm Allen bit to loosen the screws and pull them out. Alternatively you can use a manual 3mm Allen driver but I have more success with the impact driver. Do the 2 screws on one side first, then apply more heat to the other side before loosening the final 2 screws.

If this doesn't work : Drill out the screws
Sometimes the thread locker is so strong, you may find that the Allen head in the screw gets stripped and you can no longer turn it with a tool.
In this case, the screws can be drilled out, but please be aware that your seat post topper cannot be reinstated as half drilled screws will remain in place.
Firstly, I would suggest using a pillar drill if possible. If not a hand drill will work. Drill out the centre of the screw using a sharp fresh 3mm drill bit suitable for drilling metal. You don't need to drill all the way down through the screw, just to a depth of about 6mm. This is your pilot hole.

Then change to a 6.5mm drill bit and drill in to your pilot hole to the same depth. You will notice that the head of the screw comes off in a little ring shape. Keep drilling so the screw is low enough to allow the seatpost topper to slide out of the seatpost. Try and keep the drill bit central on the screw and avoid slipping to the side where you may damage the seatpost itself.

Once the heads of all 4 screws have been drilled off, you will find that the seatpost topper slides nicely out of the seatpost ready for installation of your new steep seatpost topper.

To install the new steep seatpost topper, you may need new screws to replace the old ones. these can be purchased as a spare part from the website.
